Why do we use POM plastic for our washers?

Polyoxymethylene (POM), also known as polyformaldehyde, is an engineering thermoplastic used in precision parts requiring high stiffness, low friction, and excellent dimensional stability.

POM is widely used in industry for the manufacture of gears, plain bearings, car parts, electronic enclosures, electrical parts, etc.
Due to its environmental friendliness, POM plastic is also often used for food containers and medical items. 

Why do we use POM plastic for our washers? Unlike aluminum or steel, POM does not corrode, does not damage the expensive fork or frame, and does not leave dents or bruises after twisting/unscrewing the axle. Also, POM plastic, due to its elasticity, provides close contact between the surfaces of the frame/fork and the axle cap. Which adds more security and a stiffer connection. In addition, POM plastic is easier to machine, does not need to be anodized, and weighs less than aluminum or steel. Without exaggeration, this is in our opinion the best material for washers.
